I've a few extra days in Melbourne this Nov, recommendations?

We are set to go down to Philip Island, but have a couple free days to hang out and explore or relax. I'm not sure if this is best in travel forum or here so I thought I'd try you first. Also, any duers live there?

Sorry for not spotting your post till now. I haven't done it before but am planning to do a solo trip from Canberra when I finish off work and study.
