1. It's probably not your phone per se, but

Did anything change recently, like a security update for your phone? Who’s your email provider? Have you checked whether anything changed with their service?

2. My email provider is At&T Yahoo

I really don't know is anything that changed. It just stopped taking emails. I get emails on my the computer.

3. Comcast returned only error messages the other day. I changed the password online and it started working again.

OF COURSE, I had to go under settings and enter the new password, and there's the hint.

Maybe the phone forgot the settings, or you unknowingly disabled the account (these things happen on a small screen with fat fingers)

Review the settings on the phone under mail accounts. At least the password is correct on the computer. That helps.

Cosmic rays happen and flip bits. Not saying they did but it affects computers and satellites more and more.
