Related: About this forumByrd(D-WV) was 89 years old when he last ran for re-election(2006).
Byrd passed away in 2010.
Grassley(R-IA) is the same age as Byrd. I dont expect Grassley to complete his next term. Grandson Pat gets appointed and will run in the special election.
Leahy(D-VT) has been in the US Senate for 8 terms.
He is 81 years old. He is probably going to serve 1 or 2 more terms, 3 more terms if he wants to be in the US Senate when he is reaching 100 years old.
If Biden had not been selected as Obamas VP in 2008, He would still be serving in the US Senate.
Hed get re-elected in 2014,2020,2026,and 2032.
11 terms.

(8,617 posts)2. Pat Leahy will be 94 in 2034 when he finishes his 10th term.
If he runs for an 11th term he will be a 100 before his 11th term ends.
