(34,195 posts)Iffin unbelievable !
I guess I am blessed.
I have used delivery over the past 5 years and never had a problem with fast food delivery.
I have had some problems with grocery delivery.
One shopper texted me that he was in route with my $53 worth of groceries but never showed up.
I disputed the charge on my credit card and they credited me.
As far as I know he is still working for Instacart.

(107,612 posts)Or did you just go directly to the credit card company...?

(34,195 posts)They said "you bought it and the groceries left the store"".
The way it works, instacart has my credit card on file. So their shopper goes into the store and actually does the shopping before delivering it to me. Then Instacart pockets the cost of the groceries, including any fees and driver tip.
Instacart said "we need to call the driver and see what happened"
They called the driver but he didn't answer his phone. They tried several times and he never answered. So instacart credited me with the tip portion that I was charged.
I then called my credit card and disputed the $53 for the groceries. They immediately credited my card and I've heard nothing since. That was several months ago.
I have not used them since. I now get grocery delivery from another store that uses doordash for delivery.

(11,780 posts)Id place an order online and theyd give me a window for delivery. The more restrictive the window, the more I had to pay. Delivery was actually free if you were available most of a given day and purchased more that a certain amount. I had a problem once or twice where something was wrong or missing but they always made good one way or the other.
I used to drive a delivery truck part time when I was young and learned the hard lesson first hand not to assume what was in boxes marked for a specific customer. Usually my orders werent very complicated and it didnt take me long to double check things. I had a pretty big order one time and quickly found it was all messed up. I tried telling the driver and he kept arguing with me. He was in a hurry. I told him we could take the time to go thru the order one by one or he could just come back later when he got back to the store and found out not only my order but other peoples orders were mixed up. He finally relented and we went thru it together and he saw how screwed up it was. Not like he thanked me or anything but I saved him doing a lot of extra driving or even losing his job.
