They suspect its due to decrease in low altitude clouds.
Over the course of 2024, global temperatures hit record highs, yet again. Climate scientists are beginning to worry that temperatures are increasing faster than their models led them to expect. A paper that recently appeared said that the reason for the rapid warming is a reduction in certain types of clouds. If this is correct, and if thats a trend, its very bad news. Welcome to 2025.

slow down human impact on the climate but choose not to simply because no one dares challenge the fossil fuel cartel.

(29,540 posts)2. When we remember Jimmy Carter, I hope they highlight his attempt to address this issue in the 80's.
He knew, but the next administration also knew there was a lot of money to be made maintaining the fossil fuel status quo.
