(1,123 posts)40 miles range without having to plug in ( in a sunny climate).
but in reality I would charge it up to it's 400 mile range and then make sure I parked it out of the shade which would extend it's range and reduce the amount of power needed from what ever source is local.
I have a friend that bought a Chevy Volt from a woman that claimed to have never put gas in the car. She charged it up at night (120 volt) and it got her to work and back home for years. This car reminds me of that type of vehicle - not for everybody but certainly perfect for some.

(35,006 posts)It's a pretty big fucking evasion of responsibility to assume otherwise just because one mistakenly believes that solar energy is more than an vast waste of money for no result, and that it magically dominates the grid.
On my grid, an electric car is dirtier than an internal combustion engine car, as I noted citing a scientific paper on the subject involving my grid, the PJM grid:
A paper addressing the idea that electric cars are "green."
The fucking planet is burning, most notably in car nirvana, the LA area, and still we have to listen to this shit.

This car has it's own solar panels - doesn't need your freaking coal burning power plants....
