Summary of Interview with Malcolm Nance
This Times Radio interview features Malcolm Nance, a former US Navy cryptologist and intelligence analyst, discussing the Ukraine conflict, US foreign policy, and potential military action in Venezuela.
Key Points on Ukraine
Ukrainian resolve remains strong despite years of missile attacks; they will not accept surrendering sovereignty to Russia
Putin claims "historical territories" extending beyond Ukraine to the Baltics
US support has waned - Ukrainian forces no longer believe the US has their back, with most weapons now coming from Europe
Proposed peace deals requiring Ukraine to cede territory (Donbas, Crimea, etc.) are unacceptable to Ukrainians
European peacekeeping forces won't be welcomed if they enforce a deal that surrenders Ukrainian land
Critique of US National Security Strategy
Nance harshly criticizes the new 31-page US national security document as:
Appearing to align with Putin's worldview and Alexander Dugin's "neo-Eurasianism" philosophy
Treating Europe as a "challenger" rather than ally
Suggesting withdrawal from NATO commitments
Containing what he calls "racist" elements about European immigration
Venezuela Situation
Trump is pursuing aggressive action against Venezuela, including naval blockades and vessel seizures
Russia warned this could have "unpredictable consequences"
Nance suggests Trump and Putin have coordinated: Putin gets Ukraine, Trump gets the Western Hemisphere (Monroe Doctrine revival)
Warns of potential "Christmas war" invasion of Venezuela that could lead to prolonged conflict
Notes controversy over Hegseth refusing to release videos of strikes on alleged drug smuggling boats
Overall Assessment
Nance portrays the current US administration as operating lawlessly, abandoning traditional alliances, and coordinating with Russia in ways that benefit Putin's geopolitical goals.

Sure do miss hearing him. He always brought energy and sense to the table.

Canada, Trump and the new world order.

Real short: (most of it is filler)
Focusing American power on its own hemisphere would allow Trump, in other words, to square many circles: to make America great again by making Americas imperial footprint smaller, to reduce the tax burden on the rich by cutting into the apparatus that a global imperium required.
So there it is. Give Europe to Putin, the rest of Asia (and presumably Africa) to Xi, and give most of the defense budget (and education and health care) money to the rich.
