Related: About this forumDaily Wire pundit at CPAC wants to "eradicate transgenderism" (CW: violent transphobia)
Michael Knowles, political commentator at Ben Shapiro's Daily Wire, says in front of (kind of sparse, honestly) crowds at CPAC that "there can be no middle way in dealing with transgenderism. ...Transgenderism must be eradicated from public life entirely."

Obviously violently eliminationist rhetoric. But of course when news outlets reported the things that he said out loud in front of people for them to hear, he calls it libel:

And, of course, he is being roundly beaten up on Twitter for being a genocidal fascist about it:

He thinks he gave himself wiggle room by saying "transgenderism" instead of "trans people" must be eradicated from public life, but no one's buying it. So, we get more violent rhetoric against trans people, more stochastic terrorism, more threats of actual violence against the trans community.
Sorry, Michael: Trans rights are human rights, and your genocidal tendencies are incompatible with existence in a just and fair society.

(73,155 posts)Regarding the Jewish question, the Fuehrer is determined to clean the table. He prophesized that should the Jews once again bring about a world war, they would be annihilated. These were no empty words. The world war has come, therefore the annihilation of the Jews has to be its inevitable consequence. The question has to be examined without any sentimentality. We are not here to pity Jews, but to have pity for our own German people. If the German people have sacrificed about 160,000 dead in the battles in the east, the instigators of this bloody conflict will have to pay for it with their lives.

(19,338 posts)That smarmy shit weasel knows damned good and well that you can't eliminate transgender "ism" without eliminating transgender PEOPLE. If he's going to make a hateful, intolerant, violently transphobic pronouncement like that in a public forum where everything is being recorded on video and widely disseminated, he needs to be ready to OWN every hateful, intolerant, violently transphobic word of it!
Hey, Knowles, you're not fooling ANYBODY. Everyone who has seen or will see that video knows/will know exactly who and what you are. You don't get to say something that horrifying, then turn around and claim that what everyone heard (and recorded on video) didn't mean what it obviously meant, based on some b.s. semantic "distinction" that you just conveniently pulled out of your ass.
If this disingenuous S.O.B. is stupid enough to think he can wiggle out of this, he really needs to disabuse himself of that notion. If he's actually so stupid that he didn't think through those words and realize what they meant and how they would inevitably be taken before he said them into a microphone, in front of video cameras..... no, I refuse to believe he's THAT stupid. He knew exactly what he was saying and exactly what it meant, and now that he's been called out, he wants to backtrack and pretend that's really not what he meant.
I don't know what offends me more, his hateful, intolerant, violent transphobia, or his unwillingness to own up to it.

(3,321 posts)He was perfectly happy to present those violent and hateful words to his little hateful safe space where most of those people either agree with him, or don't care. He really really wanted to say those things, and he did not care about any of the people he was talking about or their safety.
When it finally reached the wider audience outside of CPAC, he got pushback. He's not stupid, he's just a coward. He wants people to believe he didn't mean what he said out loud. Also, the people defending him with "No, he's just talking about the *ideology* not actually trans people! Think of the children!!" all agree with what he said, but they are also cowards who need to couch in terms of being "protective" against some nebulous attack from trans people.

(19,338 posts)I don't know how anybody in this day and age can assume that what they say in their "safe space" will never be heard or reacted to by anyone outside that "safe space," but I agree that's exactly what he did.
It kind of boggles my mind that, in a time where almost everyone is walking around with a camera/video recorder in their pocket, anyone still thinks there can be such a thing as a "safe space" where anything that happens there will always stay there, but he obviously did just that!
I wonder if this dude was new to CPAC and didn't realize that all the speakers were being professionally recorded and the resulting videos publicly disseminated via the internet. I guess he knows now!
