Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned: this phrase has become proverbial, its origins less famous than its meaning. But even the meaning of this pithy line, which is so recognisable as to be shortened to the four words hell hath no fury without its meaning being lost, is not without its surprising aspects.
But well come to that, and why the fury of hell hath no fury is often misunderstood or at best, only half-understood.

That was written on a hot pot coaster that my mom had in her kitchen while I was growing up. I clearly remember the illustration of a woman with red hair pushing a stroller with a red headed baby and 3 red headed kids following closely behind the black haired father. The message has stuck with me apparently.
