Returned after years in the hinterland.
Colon cancer returned Stage IV with mets to lungs. Just wrapping up (second chemo) of 8 mos now. FOLFIRI regimen.
I'm fucking beat.
We may have to do it indefinitely, but I'm going to opt for some downtime. Need it.
Probably nobody here knows me anymore, but how's everyone else doing?

(17,257 posts)I'm sure you are supremely exhausted. Are you having pain? My Mum used Morphine patches for pain, don't know if they give those now.
I wish you well Tab and hope that you're surrounded with love and caregivers who can help with the downtime.

Currently I'm on a FOLFIRI (FU-5 and Irinotecan/Camptosar) regimen. Usual side effects are GI problems (nausea + diarrhea) and Fatigue. Mine metastasized to my lungs - kinda rare. If it went to the bones it'd be much more likely to be painful.
Fortunately I've only had a touch of the nausea, basically zero diarrhea, thankfully, but the fatigue does hit me primarily and hard. Didn't lose all my hair, but enough that it was looking like crap and so I shaved the rest.
No pain, but I wouldn't say no to some medical marijuana, if only I lived in a medical marijuana state (alas, I'm in NH).
Could be worse. Main thing is to keep from getting depressed, because this stuff usually has a five-year endpoint. I think I'll do better than that, having caught it earlier, but I'm not making any super long-term plans.
Thanks Kesha. Hope you are doing well as well.

(17,257 posts)I'm keeping a good thought for you Tab. I hope this all becomes a distant memory as you go on to enjoy all that life has in store for you in the many many years to come. Hang in there!
I'm glad you aren't in pain.
Get your rest and I hope you're eating all the right things.
You WILL beat this.
