Please dont expect or look for any sympathy or consideration from your family.
You dont need to deal with any more disappointment from them right now.

(16,385 posts)My dads was malignant also but he had his prostate gland removed in surgery and it was determined it hadnt spread. Hes four years now clear of cancer and itll likely stay that way. So Im very optimistic about Richs future.

(26,404 posts)and beat it too. He's been gone for a while (he passed in his 80s), not due to P. cancer, and lived for quite a bit after his battle.
He was a trooper and my idol, and I think Rich is your idol and icon. May blessings and good fortune continue to flow your way, both of you.

(11,566 posts)I am glad this was not worse than it is. I hope you are now going to apply a little 'worry' about yourself and try to find some time to relax and let go of some of the stress and anxiety.
Don't expect anything from that 'family' of yours, and don't give another thought to them. Not. One. More. Thought.
Again, glad for this news.

(61,810 posts)sleep. Rich has done everything for them. and they can't even call or send a card. He told me he feels bad about it. I ordered some puzzles and games for him to play. He is getting more upset about the cancer and keeps calling the doctor since Thursday but has not received any response back.
Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
