What's for Dinner, Sat., Jan. 3, 2026

Shrimp lo mein. Red and yellow bell pepper, celery, scallions and yellow onion, garlic, mung bean sprouts. Chili garlic sauce, ginger, soy sauce. Sesame oil.

Kombucha: tangerine-pineapple

Dessert: White cake with berries; Greek yogurt.

Decaf coffee.

My recipe is from The Choi of Cooking by Roy Choi. New cookbook; just out. My library had it.

Typical garden salad plus bell pepper, broccoli, pod peas, and zucchini. Dressed with Hidden Valley Ranch.
A piece of rye toast with butter.

I'll have something more from the stock of leftovers after TJ heads in to work Corned beef brisket with cabbage or pasta casserole with meat sauce and cheese.

We’re still testing positive for Covid after 6 days and not entirety out of the clear but I felt like getting off my butt to make a big pot of soup. My wife helped tremendously with the chopping of vegetables. It came out well and we have enough for the next few days. Can’t wait to get better and back to the gym and, hopefully, do some skiing. Cheers!🥂

Food that used to agree with me can now cause significant regrets. It seems to be a part of me getting old.

I hope your discomfort resolves quickly.
