Carys always finishes her meal and then looks for Arthur so she can eat his, too. He's her easiest target but she'll go after the other's food if they aren't aggressively eating. (Arthur has a very gentle dining technique.)
This morning I was mixing up the outdoor kid cat's kibble/pate mix and I always give a little dab of the pate to which ever sweetie is in the kitchen. Normally that's Carys, Madoc and Merlin. This morning, as I dropped the dabs, GWEN rushed in and cleaned out Carys' bowl and then moved on to the rest of the bowls. Carys and the boys just stood back, probably in shock at the temerity of their little sister.
She is an absolute delight.

(29,715 posts)One of our 4, our male Siamese, eats like a dog - inhales the food so fast I'm not sure he even tastes it.
We feed him on the landing to the basement stairs, so we can close him in. If we didn't, he would be finished by the time the others had taken a couple of bites, and would go on to everyone else's dishes. We actually put each cat in a separate location so they can eat at their own paces - male tabby in the powder room, female tuxie in the laundry room, and the female Siamese at large in the kitchen. We [ut them in their appointed p-laces before we dish up, so we can do so in peace
I'm tempted to put the male Siamese in a room by himself with a huge bowl of food to see if he has an "I'm full" point, or if he would keep eating until he puked. He, his sister, 4 littermates and their mom were abandoned outside in the freezing cold in November in Wisconsin, when they were very young. 2 of the kittens did not survive. I suspect the momma cat had trouble making enough milk to adequately nourish her babies in those harsh conditions, and that left this guy with food insecurity.
Oddly, his sister does not do the same thing. She patiently waits for her bowl to be filled, and takes her time eating.
