He's not gone, sweetie. He's waiting at the Bridge. 
Nothing hurts as bad as when your belived canine or feline crosses over.
waiting for his family to join him in their true home together, always. That is why I believe they are a few steps above us on the spiritual ladder. Dogs are way better than people so of course they belong in a special place and occasionally come to Earth to spend time before they dash off again, wagging tails, playing, having fun and giving kisses.
I can't wait to see my babies again, in fact I am really, really looking forward to it.
Hoping time will ease your pain, and the many wonderful memories be your comfort. He has such a wise and knowing expression in this image. He looks like a great, great doggo and I am sure he loved you all very much.
Making the choice of our fur babies' pain vs. our pain is hard, but you made the right choice. Be kind to yourself while you grieve. I share your pain from life experiences.

It's bee said that it's tougher to lose a dog than a person since the pup is always with you. It's not always easy to remember when you're grieving, but try to remember that George was so very fortunate to have had you.
