My sincere condolences on the loss of Chi Chi and, unexpectedly, Butterbean.

My wife and I won't be merry this Christmas either. Her father passed away on Saturday. Wish we could have you over for dinner and we could make the best of it together.

But know this: when you've had time to grieve and the time is right, there will be another faithful companion out there delighted to fill your heart with love.

Every time we bring a dog into our homes, it is destined to be a relatively short relationship, perhaps 10 to 15 years. But, my goodness, those years are a blessing to the soul.

Take good care of yourself!
