This seems the most likely place to get some advice

it isn't specifically about pets...

We have two young, small squirrels that climbed up our small enclosed cat area. It was a weird tiny porch, our cats hang out there now that it is enclosed with screen and hardware cloth.

Anyway, these two young squirrels have been on the walls all day, now they are up in a corner with their heads under the piece of wood at the top.

When DH went to try to scare them off, they didn't move at all.

So, what do I do? I don't want to harm the little critters, but I don't know what I should do.

If these squirrels are youngsters who lost their parents prematurely, the wildlife rehab may be your best resource. ShazzieB Monday #7

They may be dead ?
Any idea if poisons have been placed out anywhere ?
A friend of mine had a baby possum crawl onto his porch and die.
😕

their tails are moving, all day they were climbing all over the enclosure....it's just as it has started to get dark that they have hidden their heads and seem to be trying to get into shelter under the board at the top.

Let them move on when they are ready

Sorry not much help … squirrels rob my bird feeders so I don’t care for them much

Birds are unaffected by capsicum but squirrels are. Sprinkle some cayenne powder on the seeds.

I found a wildlife rehab near-ish...well, it's a ways, but I don't want the little guys to die, so maybe they will direct me to someone who can help.

Talk to them and see what they say. They should be able to tell if these little guys are old enough to survive on their own and provide help if that's what they need.

Good luck, and please keep us posted!

I really want them to be okay.

I've seen another one about their size running up and down the tree today. I wonder if they got into the fenced yard and can't figure out how to get out and back to the tree. It's chain link.

one of them was dead, brought to the door by our dog (son says it had been dead for a while)...not sure where the other one is. DH is going to check in the yard to see if he can find it. Maybe it made it back to the tree. Either way, I don't need the dog bringing it in.

I'm sad for the poor little critters.

were all over the area where the two were yesterday.

We put the dead one out by the tree and they stopped looking.

But, there were 4 babies hanging around recently, now there are 3, so I think the other one made it home.

and it looked like the one was attacked by something. Probably a feral cat. We have a couple of really big ones around here.
