I recently watched two "Jesse Stone" movies on TV based upon Robert B. Parker mystery novels, and that got me to buy his first 'Jesse Stone' novel "Night Passage".
I've never read any of his books before, although I am familiar with his name in connection with the "Spenser" series.
I'm enjoying the book "Night Passage".

(31,607 posts)I have not read the Spenser books, but I have read the Jesse Stone and Sunny Randall books. It is a shame he died before adding to these two series.

I might also refer you to Lee Child, and the Jack Reacher series. These novels come out at rather long intervals but each is as masterful as the ones that preceded it.
