'Not sure if he's as much a jinx as Ted Cruz is for Univ of Texas, but...

Then again, Notre Dame has one hell of an impressive coach and "Touchdown Jesus" so...

I think if they would get rid of the "THE" then Ohio State would prevail. Any chance of that? LOL

1. Yes that is a major drawback, JD Vance. A disgraced and hated alumni.
OSU has over 600,000 living alumni, there is bound to be a few bad apples.

2. I am so thankful that Ted Cruz attended the Texas game. I actually loved him for showing up.

3. You are only an impressive coach if you win a game.

4. What in god's name is a touch down Jesus.

5. Ha ha ha That's a good one. Getting rid of the THE. Ha ha ha

In Ohio in the Cincinnati area on I 75 there used to be a huge Jesus statue,
62 feet high, in front of some sort of evangelical type protestant church.
His arms were stretched out like Touchdown Jesus.

People called him Butter Jesus because he looked like he was made of butter.
He was sitting down in huge pool of water and he was so big
it looked like his legs and feet ran under the interstate to the other side.

So everyone would tell their kids and friends from out of town to look for Jesus' feet
on the other side of the interstate, as a joke.

But alas a couple of years ago Butter Jesus got hit by lighting and burned to a crisp.
It was just made of styrofoam and fiberglass and was heavily insured, good thing.

Everyone missed him and the church built another Jesus but smaller and he didn't look like butter.
He is standing up and has the biggest anti lighting rod on his head.

At a high school field in Iowa. A fundraiser for the LA Area. Americana. A Field of Dreams.

Is that a real college?
Where is North Dakota?

But yes a good idea for a fund raiser.

They have a domed stadium. Went 15 and 2 this year. Lost at Colorado 31-26. Been a great program for years. North Dakota is North of South Dakota.

They are THE North Dakota State Bison. Fun team to watch, but seldom televised.

Kansas is far enough north for me. I appreciate a lazy boy, a close by fridge full of beer, a cozy bathroom, big screen TV and other amenities found at home. Free parking and no need to drive home. I’m already here. I am an Arkansas Razorback fanatic. Went to school there in the 70s. But I seldom watch their games now. I get to hyper. I really enjoy watching games where I don’t care who wins. Especially the lesser publicized schools. The championship game between North Dakota State and Montana State was as good as anything you might see from the BIG conferences. I’m looking forward to the game Monday night because I don’t care who wins. No offense to either team or their fans. I’ll enjoy it. Somebody’s fans won’t. I’ve rambled enough. Thx for the chat.

Why fight the crowds when you can sit in comfort with food and amenities at home.

I think the idea of a smaller school football team and games is appealing.

Lower key, smaller fan base, less infighting and crazed fans.
Less drama and flash. More relaxing and less deadly serious.

Just a good old fashioned football game.
Doesn't matter who wins, it is the fun of the game that matters.

You don't exactly get that at OSU.

But my favorite in person game was Princeton at Penn in Philly, Halloween afternoon 1987. Laid back fun, great weather, medium crowd. I have no idea who won or lost.

Now ya wanna see me rabid. Send me to a Phillies game. But. I’m too old and slow.

Watching national championship games is like heart attack city.
And the entire state is totally keyed up.
Every damn move is a nail bitter.
People ecstatic at good plays.
Screaming angry at bad plays.

And then weeks of dissecting every play afterwards, sometimes months.

I could go on and on but you understand.

Might be nice to just sit back and have some relaxed fun.

Of course my heart belongs to THE Ohio State University, so I take the good with the bad.
