Seems like there’s not much tax money involved in the project. I was expecting the Royals to make a similar announcement.

3. If I were you, I would reevaluate your source. STAR bonds are repaid by sales taxes.

At the moment they are calling it a ~$3 billion project, of which $2.4 billion will be STAR bonds -- which means sales taxes are the ultimate source of the money.

about sports but will pay the fucking sales tax every damn day we shop.

I wish I could care about football or baseball, as not caring leaves me out of so many things people do together, but I just don't.

And, like the tariffs etc that I always wished only were paid by people who vote "R", I wish I didn't have to pay for this either.

I've cared about professional sports since pretty much childhood and it's brought me mostly misery and unfulfillment, thanks to the annual failures of the teams I chose to root for back in that aforementioned childhood.

Not to mention, it's a massive time suck.
