(893 posts)He has never won the MVP despite arguably a HoF career. Sentimental feelings might cause some to vote for him even though Maye has a better passing percentage and is much more mobile. Stafford has 12 more passing TDs, 8 more TDs overall, and a couple hundred more yards passing. Maye has more yards overall if you include his rushing yards. They're tied at eight picks each.
Stafford is near the end of his career if not at the end, and Maye has a bright future. This might be seen as Stafford's last shot, and more than one sportswriter may want to reward him for a great career.
