For the 4th

I'm going to be watching the France vs. Paraguay match from home as they play in Philadelphia at 1700.

I'm all in for France. My Adidas Fifa World Cup 26™ France shirt is due to arrive on Friday.

It's the first time I've ever purchased an Adidas or a sports team anything in my almost seven decades of life.

I hope that they win.

I'm known for being lucky. We'll see.

What are your 4th of July plans?

🇫🇷 ❤️ 🇫🇷

The country and the FIFA team.

What's your connection to France, LMSP? Why do you take a rooting interest in them?

They arrived in North Carolina from France by way of Germany in 1619 as Huguenots.

That's all. ❤️

Have you researched your genealogy, or was an ancestor's work made available to you?

I know little about our family's history, but I've been told it traces back to Ireland, Portugal, France and England.

I'm thinking about getting some genetic testing done, too. But I haven't decided yet what testing I want to do and by which company.

I was fortunate to serve on the board of a regional genealogical society, too, for a few years. I learned a lot from that experience.

It's great fun reading court records but sometimes frustrating when you do what's referred to as "hitting a wall" when you're on a trail and it just runs out and you can't get any more information. That's why I am thinking about genetic testing. I have mysteries that I'd like to solve.

and their draw is good too. If they win against Paraguay they’ll play the winner of Canada/Morocco. So, they’re set up to go into the semifinals, I think. And if the US continues to advance, that’s where we’ll meet. Good luck and Happy Independence Day.
