Train travel would certainly be an interesting way to travel. And European trains are certainly very comfortable. Recently I took the high speed train from Paris to Lyon, and the ride was very smooth.
Many, many years ago I bought a Eurail pass, and they certainly do come in handy. Even took a ferry using the Eurail pass.

(24,410 posts)We traveled from Paris to Strasbourg & back several times and went into Germany and Switzerland all via train. It's inexpensive, comfortable, reliable and there are so many options!

He now takes the train to work instead of driving.
from CNN 23.May.2022: The German government has today approved the creation of a 9 ($9.50) monthly public transport ticket. It will be launched in June -- just in time for a summer trip.
