It means quietly leaving a party without telling anyone, especially the host.

As an introvert with Irish heritage, this would be me to a "T."

3. My husband is much more outgoing than I am, and typically...

...if we are at some social gathering, when he asks if I'm ready to leave, the answer is usually "Yes." Half an hour later, we'll still be there because he hasn't finished saying goodbye to everyone there. Sometimes he asks 3-4 times if I'm ready to go, and I resist the urge to be snarky and say, "I was ready the first time you asked."

Same thing, though: I didn’t want to be here. And now I’m going to leave with no fuss.

People always tell introverts to get out of their comfort zone and meet people. No one ever tells extroverts to sit down and shut up.
