"We'd like to send you notices"

Every couple of logins, this message pops up, that DU wants to send notifications. There is no "No, and stop asking me" option, which I think might be a useful thing to have. Otherwise, you know, one tends to feel nagged.

3. Should be in 'account settings' (turn off notifications)

I recall being able to turn the notifications off.

There are no options currently to turn off the "We'd like to send you notifications" popup.

If you are in skinner mode, it might be in the default version (?) I haven't checked.

10. Thanks, but I think that was prior to the current tabbed interface of DU4 that came out 4 days ago

Again, I'm not finding any options anywhere. And even back then, none of the notification settings dealt with the pop-up malthaussen and I are talking about.

Edited to add. I'm always in regular mode but I temporarily went into Skinner Mode - nothing there either.

4. I opted in on notifications and I don't know why.

If I'm on my PC, Laptop, and/or phone, I have probably read the thread that's been pushed. I mean, DU has a permanent tab on my browsers, regardless of device.

9. That is for push notifications

It’s not related to any account settings on DU and it’s not related to Star Memberships. What’s supposed to happen is that if you click No you won’t be asked again. However, as with so many web technologies, things don’t always work perfectly for everyone all the time.

You should be able to prevent the request from occurring again by tweaking some browser settings. Here’s an article that explains how to do it in Chrome, Edge, or Firefox:

Just looking at older threads, did you look in ''clock area in the taskbar'' (lowest right-hand corner) for the ''shut off''

In W11 you can right-click on the clock area in the taskbar (lowest right-hand corner) and choose notification settings. From there there's a list of what you allow and what you don't. Switch the DU entry to 'no'.

19. On a mac, you can turn notifications on or off per app in SystemSettings - notifications
