She lost the appeal to Medicare Advantage to get her mother’s nursing home covered. She told them she learned about their scheme from our PDR show. Her mother got her coverage.

If someone has a complaint, they can file a grievance directly with Medicare by contacting
Medicare.gov or calling 1-800-MEDICARE.

Medicare releases star ratings for every Advantage plan, based upon quality and performance. The number of grievances filed against an insurer plays into the star rating. Insurance companies care about their star ratings because that affects their policy sales.
