Tears, hugs greet 90 Palestinian women and children freed from Israeli prisons - Al Jazeera English

Ninety Palestinians have been freed from Israeli prisons and were greeted by large crowds of jubilant relatives, friends and supporters as they returned home to the occupied West Bank in the first prisoner exchange of the Hamas-Israel ceasefire following the release of three Israeli captives in Gaza.

The freed Palestinians included 69 women and 21 teenage boys – some as young as 12 – from the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

The prisoner exchange between Hamas and Israel marks the first of its kind since November 2023.

Al Jazeera’s Tareq Abu Azzoum reports from Deir el-Balah in Central Gaza. - 01/20/2025.

I can't imagine, they're lucky to have survived. And if the cease fire holds, the next release is three American men Rhiannon12866 Jan 20 #4

this does appear to be a slow process, but better than no process at all.

plus, i don't particularly care which of our politicians take credit for peace. as long as it is peace.

being stuck underground, in the dark, no sun, very little, shitty food for 1.5 years? Congrats to them.

It's time to get the rest of them.

I agree, it's long past time to bring them home, no matter what it takes. The president worked so hard to make this happen, I sure hope that the plan continues to be successful.
