As much as Israel tried to bomb Hamas and indeed the Palestinians themselves out of existence, they remain. The horror they inflicted on Israel and that which Israel returned has just further entrenched and strengthened the hatred and malevolence in the region. And some of that will spill out to anyone that supports Israel. The Middle East is where hope goes to die.
