Constitutional Expert: Jan. 6th Pardons "Most Shameful" in Presidential History - Amanpour and Company PBS

Among those included in Trump’s January 6th pardons is the founder of the dark web criminal marketplace Silk Road, who was serving a life sentence. Conservative lawyer Paul Rosenzweig calls this "one of the most shameful acts" ever committed by a U.S. President. Rosenzweig explains to Michel Martin how Trump's action differs from Biden's 11th-hour preemptive pardons. - Originally aired on January 22, 2025.

The problem is that these people have no shame. They are sociopaths. Our outrage just brings joy to their twisted hearts. We need to start fighting fire with fire. We must defend America and the Constitution with the same ruthlessness that they exhibit towards innocent people. They are threatening our lives and the survival of our nation. We have the moral right to act in self defense.

And you're right, our democracy depends on it. If they have done this much damage to democracy in two days, I cringe at the damage they could do in 4 years.

This is not just Trump's plan either. He has been fed this plan by a bunch of dangerous Fascist lackeys. If you watched him signing those Executive Orders in the Oval Office, he did not know what he was signing until he was told by his "assistant". Not to say that Trump is not dangerous or does not have final authority in the office. But really he is surrounded by dangerous people who clearly have a plan and they are moving swiftly to enact it. I predict that we are going to see some more shocking actions in the coming days. I just pray to God that we can find some way to counter Trump and his gang of MAGA criminals before it is too late.
