Let's talk about 10 more days of Trump Chicken and Waffles over Iran.... - Belle of the Ranch

Well, howdy there internet people. It's Belle again. So, today we're going to talk about 10 more days of Trump chicken and waffles over Iran.

Trump's planned campaign against energy infrastructure is back on hold because he says the talks are going well. To be clear, the talks at this point appear to be mainly back channel. That doesn't mean they can't produce results, but they aren't the high-level talks Trump is portraying and the strait is not open. In fact, that weird statement Trump made about getting a present from Iran was them allowing a few oil tankers through. That's where Trump is. Getting a fraction of the normal daily traffic of the strait through over the course of a week is a very big deal that he should totally be praised for.

Quick recap. Trump started an elective war with ill-defined and fluid goals and while DoD made defensive preparations, Trump seemed completely unprepared for the inevitable counterattack. The Strait of Hormuz was closed, spiking oil prices.

Trump posted, "If Iran doesn't fully open without threat the Strait of Hormuz within 48 hours from this exact point in time, the United States of America will hit and obliterate their various power plants, starting with the biggest one first. Thank you for your attention to this matter, President Donald J. Trump.

When Iran said it would respond against the region's energy infrastructure, Trump backed off and gave them an additional 5 days to comply. They didn't. Now he's posted, “As per Iranian government request, please let this statement serve to represent that I am pausing the period of energy plant destruction by 10 days to Monday, April 6, 2026 at 8:00 p.m. Eastern time. Talks are ongoing and despite erroneous statements to the contrary by the fake news media and others, they are going very well. Thank you for your attention to this matter. President Donald J. Trump.

The chicken and waffle special at Donny's Diner has been extended from 2 days to 2 weeks. Meanwhile, WTI crude is up more than 60% year to date. Brent is up about 75%. This is coming on the heels of the US withdrawing major naval assets from the region and reporting saying US military bases in the region have been severely damaged.

Meanwhile, other US rhetoric is building the public up for what the administration is calling a final blow operation. Historically, those kinds of claims backfire on the government making them. They tend to give the troops will be home by Christmas vibes. That's especially true given the fact that Trump has repeatedly declared the war was already won and that Iran is defeated.

Claims like that began almost immediately. Just a couple of days ago on the 24th, Trump said, "We've won this war. The war has been won."

It's weird that Iran was totally defeated and the war has been won, but we're still deploying assets to harm's way and planning major operations. He might as well just hold every press conference in front of a mission accomplished banner at this point.

Anyway, it's just a thought. Y'all have a good day.
