1. Hey, as ridiculous as it may seem, it's no longer beyond the realm of possibility.

Elon for Speaker… he can’t be President but the Speaker’s office is not beyond his grasp. He’s got friends in high places, so why not?

Musk is foreign born. I don't see how he could be in the line of succession. Legally anyway. With this SCOTUS, who knows?

As if the Repug caucus doesn't already tie itself in knots over any little thing, this would really twist them up like a pretzel. Assuming the rule that any one member is able to call no confidence and force a vote on the Speaker remains, would be endless trying to get the next speaker AFTER Musk.

As such, the 2nd replacement would instead fall to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. This is not without precedent in the presidential line of succession.
