You can't faze the ones I have to live next door to. Of course they're Republican theological nitwits, they've told me straight-up, "Nothing you say will change our minds." Cassidy Hutchinson said "We need to learn how to talk to these people." Exactly how would be enlightening. Whatcha gon do?

They all insist that we liberal elitists need to try to understand and empathize with these people. The media bangs this tinny fucking drum all the time and has since the Tea Party bullshit. Never once have I heard them say that just maybe these people ought to try to understand our perspectives. Not once.

I understand them. I grew up with them. i used to work with a bunch of them. The names change but they don't. John Birch Society comes to mind.
They are right. You are wrong. A reasoned argument will not work with them because their beliefs are not based on reason, but upon ignorance, stupidity and fear. Lots of fear. Every one is at their base a coward. Let's not forget racist.

Every society in history has had them, and currently we have more than our share.

Any attempt by you to find a common ground is looked upon as weakness, and exploited. They cannot be trusted, and they hate you.

No. I am not making nice with these clowns. Been there, done that
