In a turn of events that makes American seem like a banana republic, Trump's DOJ lawyers tell a judge in a new court filing that even though they wrongfully deported Abrego Garcia to El Salvador in violation of a court order, and even though they are paying the government of El Salvador to keep him in prison there, it is "not possible" for the United States to arrange for Garcia's return to the United States?!
This video reviews this now low for Trump's DOJ. - Glenn Kirschner - 04/05/2025.

(14,023 posts)those they send there are relinquished to their government or prison system who now own them. In other words, they might have to buy him back. If they did so, they have no idea what condition he's in AND he could sue them to hell and back.
They do not want him back.

(61,331 posts)They can threaten NATO ally Denmark to take Greenland or take the Panama Canal from Panama but they can't convince an authoritarian government that they're sending for profit prison money too that they need to release a prisoner that they wrongly sent there in the first place.
Thanks for the thread Rhiannon
