Salon - "FEMA is not good": Trump looking into ending federal disaster aid agency

Trump suggested some states were more deserving of aid than others, and that the feds could step out of relief role

As wildfires continue to rage in California, President Donald Trump says he's considering "getting rid" FEMA.

During a visit to hurricane-ravaged North Carolina on Friday, Trump said he would soon sign an executive order “fundamentally reforming and overhauling" the disaster relief agency.

“I think, frankly, FEMA is not good,” the president said. "FEMA's turned out to be a disaster...I think we're going to recommend that FEMA go away."

Trump does not have the authority to shutter FEMA entirely. Still, he seems to be leaning toward a recommendation that the agency be wound down, which could be carried out by his allies in an entirely Republican-controlled government.

Doesn't mention how horrible of a job the Governor of NC is doing (like with Newsome) and I'm not saying the governor is but that is trump's MO - he admitted NC voted for him and he will reciprocate, it's all TRANSACTIONAL.

He avoids answering a question to the conditions he is placing on California and if NC will have something similar.
Brings up the elections again and again of course.

..vote in favor of eliminating a service their state will desperately need or has received at some point?

Not what you'd consider a good policy to campaign on.
