1. Spot on. He has recreated our country as a

nation in which if you are not MAGA you are an "enemy within." That's a hell of a lot of enemies. And as a logistical and practical matter, that might not mean much if your sin was, say, donating to Kamala Harris. But the danger is that his core supporters are rabid and seem to have a lot of time on their hands. If they feel motivated and emboldened, they can create a lot of suffering and will do so under the belief (which could well be true) that they won't face consequences for hate crime, crimes against anyone they perceive to be an enemy of the new dictatorship.

I think it's rational to be a little bit frightened. Like my physics professor used to say, "A little bit of fear is a good thing." We shouldn't live our lives in fear, but we should be vigilant and use caution, at least initially until we get the lay of the land.
