Some of you may be too young to remember, but [View all]

when GWB was President the corporate media treated him like God's gift. He was constantly referred to as the "popular wartime President" and CNN and other mainstream networks were accused of being his stenographers and cheerleaders. And it wasn't just cable news. The NYT was in his pocket too and carried water for him to an even more extreme degree. I'll spare you all the details, but it was really, really bad.

Of course GWB left office in disgrace and the corporate media did no soul searching at all. They had rolled over for one of the worst Presidents in history because
they wanted to.and they were unapologetic about it.

Now fast forward to 2025. The corporate media is being blatantly threatened by maga to get in line. If they were willing to embarrass themselves with GWB, how do you think they'll hold up under direct threats?

I got a hint of how they'll react this morning. When two stories broke I briefly checked MSNBC and CNN to see their reactions. On the TikTok story, apparently it's all up to trump now to save this super popular site and he will do so by letting an American (Musk?) buy it. Yay! Ont he inauguration story, they were even quicker to spin it in trump's favor. A Dem on MSNBC fell all over himself saying it wasn't just standing in the cold for an hour, but trump would have to do all kinds of things outside so it's a good decision, and Dana Bash praised him for reacting quickly and decisively, saying that that's how it is when you are President. You have to react to changing circumstances.

Wow. Between this and how desperate they are to give trump credit for the hostage treaty in the middle east, things are about to go coo coo for cocoapuffs very quickly. He's not even in office yet!
