Most Germans are quite OK with being Germans. My wife is one of them, and my daughters are two more. They are half German and half American, and don’t feel that one half is better than the other. Having grown up in western Germany, they were taught the evil deeds of their Nazi ancestors, those that had them, and learned to live with their past, and try to never repeat it. It is fitting that Musk got involved with an AfD rally in Halle, in the former socialist East Germany, whose official propaganda line was that they needed no de-Nazification because there were no more Nazis lurking there, just good socialists. So, when the wall fell, guess where all the suppressed neo-Nazi sentiment surged most? Right there in East Germany, where it was freed from its shackles.
