I had an idea forming in my 'ead. (from the movie time bandits)
who would stand to benefit the most if the orange asshole forcibly tried to take Greenland?
Putin.
per the NATO pact, if one nation is attacked, they are all attacked and come to aid.
the orange asshole taking orders from putin ties up our former allies with a "second front" in Greenland this splits NATO to two fronts.
pootie gets a bit of relief on the front to rearm and reorganize. And think about the Baltic states and Poland.
More over, Canada, (the orange assholes 51st state) now has to fight a boarder war.
I read a lot of alternative history. And of the many books I have read, none, NONE, came up with this scenario.
