They have to strip it completely out. Check for bugs. Install secure commo systems. Anti missile flares. They carry a lot of food with them, worst case scenario they may have to mid flight refuel and stay up for a long time. I’m sure there’s a small highly secure armory on AF1 for when they land in that scenario and just generally being able to secure the plane and POTUS. Sleeping quarters for SS and crew. And lots more we have no idea about.
