Still, it takes years to complete deals like this, and they can fall apart easily. One such deal did fall apart after several years because of delivery delays. https://northwestairlineshistory.org/aircraft-boeing-787-8/ It could be just a plan for a deal, announced for the purpose of Trump-fluffing and driving up Boeing's stock.
