They are all acting like nothing is happening, while simultaneously sharpening the long knives for when the moment of opportunity arrives.

Mark my words, Trump is not going to die quickly or suddenly. I have been a frequent visitor to 5 different dementia care homes in the past year. People with dementia can live a long time, especially when they get the medical attention Trump gets. Trump's mental decline is very rapid -- more rapid than his physical decline. It is almost certain he has had several small strokes (probably TIA). This is evident by the relative weakness of the right side of his body. He could have a massive stroke that kills him in a week, but I doubt that will happen. He surely is on strong meds to try to prevent more strokes. So the probability is he will stay in the job as his mental abilities head toward zero.

If we indeed get a blue wave in 2026, the Republican wannabes for 2028 will decide they can't wait for Trump to die. They will have to make their move or else risk it going to Vance by default. The problem they have is that there are several different factions, so I doubt if they could ever get a majority of the cabinet to do the 25th.

If you were a wannabe not named Vance, what would you do? I think I'd be working behind the scenes to try to get Trump eliminated because of the Epstein stuff, and hope that Vance can be positioned as unqualified and untrustworthy among the base.
