None of us should tolerate this kind of behavior,” Schumer said, highlighting political violence in recent years, including the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol, and political assassinations just this past year.
House Committee on the Judiciary Chair Jamie Raskin, D-Md., called on Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., to “immediately denounce these reckless statements.”

Donald Trump is, at heart, a pitchman. Even so, the millions of Americans struggling under a stagnant economy, declining job market and skyrocketing inflation would have a hard time recognizing the thriving America he tried to sell them during his bizarre White House address last week.
In Trump’s upside-down world, everything bad is the fault of former President Biden and congressional Democrats, even though Trump has now been in charge for nearly a year. The opposite is also true — it was Trump, the president assured us, who saved us all from total catastrophe. Just ignore that inflation remains stubbornly high and corporate layoffs are hitting pandemic-era records.
