The religiously insane are the fundamentalists.
The fundamentalists might train their eyes heavenward, but those haters ain't gettin' there.
Spiritual people use religion to become better people.
Fundamentalists use religion to pretend they're better than other people.

While Democrats fall short in many ways, our party policies on healthcare, social safety nets, immigration, gun safety, women's equality, gay rights, and antiracism are LIGHT YEARS CLOSER to the teachings of Jesus than Trump-era Republicanism, which remains the brazen, junk-wagging hateful opposite of JC's actual words.

For every time arrogant christians used the Bible to justify the slaughter of Indigenous people, slavery, labor exploitation of Asian people, ignoring the suffering of Jewish people, cruelty to gay people, indiscriminate detention and torture of Muslim people, pushing second class citizenship on female people -- for every time authoritarian christians perpetrated great injustice -- liberal and moderate Christians (and many conservatives, too) have fought back. Progressive Christians helped lead the battle to abolish slavery, oppose imperialism, segregation, and science denial; they've fought for humane conditions for the American worker and an end to child labor.

Decent Christians with real faith --- including moderates & sane conservatives, along with righteous atheists, agnostics, and many people of other religions, have ALWAYS had to band together to beat back the batshit-crazy christians.
