As many of you know I went to the Doctor's office Jan. of last year with a small tender lump on my jaw. I found
out yesterday at the Doctor's office I weighed 265 lbs that visit, today I weigh 205, losing most of it in the last
five months.
To refresh, the cancer center took 5 months to get any treatment started and they put me on an auto-immune
treatment once a month for 8 months. Finished those late Dec., scheduled me for a CT & PET scan an hour apart
Jan 20. Meet with my 5th new cancer Doc the 28th to review the scans, in addition to the lymph node surrounding
my right carotid artery there are now 6 more lymph nodes in my neck area growing plus the cancer is 4 times the
size it was a year ago. And he wanted to get me started on more auto-immune treatments right away, as politely
as I could I reminded him I'm sicker today than I was before all the treatments. He referred me to the head cancer
Doctor.
I meet with him & his head nurse for over 2 hours yesterday, looking over my CT & PET scans he believes the
cancer has gone back into my vocal cords and even up into my nose. He got me scheduled with the ENT docs
this coming Tuesday to put the scope down and look at my vocal cords to see if they are cancerous, and if they
are any future treatment will get complicated.
The day after the 2 scans I got real sick, peeling chapped lips and blowing a lot of red snot out of my nose, watery
eyes plus being really tired, I was thinking it was a reaction to the radio active dyes that were used, Doc & Nurse both said it wasn't that and encouraged me to go see my family Doctor. Got an appt with her yesterday afternoon and
glad I went, she believes I picked up a bug the day of my scans, gave me a couple prescriptions that appear to be helping, so that's a little good news.
Any suggestions for fating foods, Doc said I need to put weight back on.
