people who couldnt get a job at a McDonalds can be elected to public office. Criminals can hold public office.
FBI checks are required for most people seeking employment in any job, public or private. You cant get a bank account without credit checks. Loans, insurance, rentals, etc, all require some kind of background check. There are no such checks for those seeking public office. That is a huge problem, imho.
