3. My brother and I went to a comedy festival and saw Larry the Cable Guy.

He would tell a godawful stupid joke and nobody would laugh.

Then, out of nowhere, he would simply say "Git'r'done!" and the whole audience would erupt in cheers and laughter.

That is what watching a Trump speech reminds me of. The audience is primed, trained to react to certain phrases or themes.

Classic conditioning techniques through repetition and emotional confirmational rewards.

Like training a dog.

"Who's a good boy?"
