It's Memorial Day Week-end. I work retail grocery. [View all]

A lot of men was coming in, wearing their military caps. You know they're veterans.

Seems that I'm the only one who recognizes them and says, "Thank you for your service." Some brighten up. Some nod at me. Some have faint smiles.

They are survivors and nobody says anything to them but me.
