A friend once confided in me that her husband was sending sexy messages to women online. I did not run to his employer and tell the employer about the man's messages. My friend trusted me. Subsequent discussions with my friend revealed they had gone for marriage counseling and individual counseling to work things out the best they could. That was a few years ago and they worked it out as many couples do.
As far as I know, none of the women Platner communicated with were under age. None were forced against their will. This appears to be a modern problem that is cropping up in many marriages now. Isn't it how they manage it the key here?
Susan Collins did not protect a woman's bodily autonomy, leaving the states to enact draconian laws that practically put pregnant women under the control of the state. Some have died. We all know she was concerned though.
Susan Collins has lived a life much different than the rest of us. Her political ambitions from an early age left little room for mistakes. Her family's political connections greased the wheels for her rise. She is 73 now and would like to keep her seat until she is 79.
Platner has lived a life that is familiar to many. He went to war, suffered PTSD and worked through it, owns a small business, and started a marriage at 38. This is a life that has room for mistakes and learning from them.
I will take someone who lives in the real world and does the work over a pampered princess any day.
