It is lateralized, so it has left and right sides with specialized functions. It uses a whole suite of neurotransmitters involved in mood, memory, appetite, and drive (movement, thought, volition, arousal, etc. etc.)

It can, through imaging, predictably determine a person's political alignment.

It builds our dreams and is the reason why dreams tend to have a panicked, urgent quality.
