TX-SEN: Ken, Angela Paxton's divorce trial canceled [View all]
A divorce trial between Texas Republican Senate candidate Ken Paxton and his estranged wife will no longer proceed after a state district judge canceled the public proceedings on Tuesday.
Collins County judge Lindsey Wynne canceled the trial following a tumultuous few months between the Texas attorney general and Texas state Sen. Angela Paxton (R).
Angela Paxton announced that she was filing for divorce “on biblical grounds” from her husband last July in a social media post.
“I believe marriage is a sacred covenant and I have earnestly pursued reconciliation,” the state lawmaker wrote in the post. “But in light of recent discoveries, I do not believe that it honors God or is loving to myself, my children, or Ken to remain in the marriage.”
