4. to be absoltely clear, what SCOTUS has ruled, in a lot of creating wordsmithing to try and cover it up...

is that racial gerrymandering to create a district where a minority can be elected is illegal, but racial gerrymandering to create a district(s) to ensure a minority CAN NOT be elected, is perfectly legal.

It is bad enough that they disallowed the practice of creating districts that reflect the racial and ethnic backgrounds of the majority of its inhabitants, but they went even FURTHER than that to declare that political parties can select their own voters and draw districts to ensure no non-white group or political party has a majority of voters in any district.

in effect, there is no such thing as a House election anymore. every state can simply appoint whoever they want into the House by making it politically impossible for their opponent to win.

Free elections are an illusion.
